Mellon Hall is an existing Science lab building which was designed by Mies Van Der Rohe. The building was constructed in 1968 and won the “Lab of the year” award in 1969. Three labs on the 3rd floor are for General Chemistry and Biochemistry. The 2nd floor renovated labs will be for Environmental microbiology and an autoclave room. All labs will be completely gutted and fully renovated with all new fume hoods and adaptable lab benches with quick disconnects for a flexible laboratory environment. The total area of the labs to be renovated is 3,850 SF.
