Principal | Architecture

Deepak Wadhwani is a founding Principal of R3A Architecture and guides the firm’s strategic direction with respect to markets, new business development, financial and administrative matters. Deepak’s involvement in the early phases of projects for academic, institutional and corporate clients seeks to bring a cross-disciplinary and collaborative approach to design thinking – one that is based on a lateral analysis of organization culture, community impact, spatial dynamics, historical precedents, economic modeling and user behavior.  This allows for a thoughtful reframing of a design problem from a multidimensional perspective, while setting the framework for the analytical research and rapid prototyping that have become the hallmark of R3A’s inspired and methodical approach.

In his role as Principal at R3A, Deepak has helped grow the firm’s practice in project types that lie at the intersection of higher education, science and technology, and workplace innovation, and that recognize the important role that community input and public stakeholders play in any successful project.  R3A has also collaborated with many national consultants and design practices on larger scale projects, integrating local knowledge and strategy with national expertise.

Deepak has served on several boards and committees of local professional, community and cultural organizations including AIA Pittsburgh and is on the board and strategic planning committees of City Theatre, Pittsburgh’s most cutting-edge theatre company, as well as the Indian Nationality Classroom Committee at the University of Pittsburgh.
