Located on the first floor of the Tepper School of Business at CMU, this space serves the School of Computer Science as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Makerspace which will allow students and faculty to test robots, drones and AI software in various environments. The corridor wall of the existing shell space was partially removed, and new aluminum and glass storefront was installed to let borrowed light into the space, including a new entrance door to the suite. The space includes a secured check-out station and storage area for robots, a small private office, and an open area consisting of a netted area for drone flying, a raised robot playground table, a common work area with seating and workstations for vision/speech interface, a smart home area with a typical living room and kitchenette layout (with non-plumbed appliances), and a general robotics area for various other robot technologies/displays.
