Design Goals

Designed by R3A, the fit out of this of this classroom space is a true embodiment of the interdisciplinary and collaborative spirit of the Tepper Quad and the Department of Modern Languages. The Global Languages & Cultures Room is designed with an expansive glass storefront wall facing a major public corridor in the Tepper School of Business, to showcase the interactive learning occurring within.

The classroom space itself provide flexible seating and multiple large monitor displays to facilitate a variety learning modes, as well as to support various events. At the rear of the classroom space are computer stations equipped with VR headsets, which can allow students and visitors to transport themselves to a cafe in Paris or a public square in China.

Adjacent to the classroom area is a smaller dedicated immersive experience room, fitted with short-throw projectors and enhanced audio equipment, which provides for interactive exercises and furthers research into language learning and cultural understanding.
