The renovation restored the interior and exterior Victorian-era woodwork detailing, plaster walls and plaster cornices and provided all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the existing residence in the conversion to a Bed and Breakfast. The improvements to the ground floor restored the living, dining, parlor, kitchen, vestibule and porch and the restoration of the 2nd and 3rd floors added bathrooms to all the bedrooms and provided connection to the addition which included the additional guestrooms, second means of egress and an elevator. The restored portion of the residence is the left side of the image, and the addition is the right side of the image.
There was significant research into the details and construction techniques used in the construction of Victorian houses of this period and we found and used woodwork detailing from Victorian-era pattern books to help us with finding trim, siding and window detailing that was authentic for the period.
