R3A designed this, LEED-Certified building for Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation to manufacture solid oxide fuel cells. It was the first LEED-certified manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania and one of only a handful of ‘green’ manufacturing facilities in the United States. Our design includes a two-story office; including conference rooms, laboratories, cafeteria, restrooms and other support spaces; and a one story high-bay manufacturing area for a total of 200,000 square feet. We worked closely with our MEP engineers to develop a heat abatement strategy within the large warehouse space to ensure maximum building performance and efficiency. US Steel currently occupies the building.
